Online Medha Yoga Course

Happy and calm teens are able to stay resilient despite challenges. But at times like these when children are forced to lock themselves up in their homes, it can be challenging for them to channelize their energies in the right path.

Keeping this in view, SSRVM Bangalore North had organized an online Medha Yoga course, for the students of grade VIII, under the guidance of our beloved Principal Mrs. Mamatha Raviprakash and Trained by the energetic and loving AOL teacher Ms. Hetal Pendse.

The 3-day Medha yoga course, is a “Gift of Happiness” given by Poojya Gurudev, which focuses on making the teens stress free and happy! It guides them on how to unleash their full potential, strengthen leadership skills, enhance memory, build immunity and improve relationships.

The students were elated to share their experiences.

“It was a wonderful experience and pleasure to learn Sudarshana Kriya” said Kusumitaa.

Rithvik Bejoy expressed “The lively sessions conducted by Hetal Mahodaye, were filled with a lot of interesting stories, fun activities and exciting home assignments. I really enjoyed them”

Paartha, a new joinee to the school, expressed his delight and said “This was a completely new experience learning the Sudarshana Kriya”

Shobha AR, a parent shared her experience saying

“I am happy that my kid is utilizing his time in the right way”

The students are eager to practice and gain the benefits of Sudarshana Kriya and be both energetic and relaxed at the same time.

Online Utkarsh Yoga Course

This quote by Gurudev is so apt for these testing times. To set the this in motion, Sri Sri Ravishankar Vidya Mandir Bangalore North organized an online Utkarsh Yoga course for the students of class 3, for the first time ever. Our beloved Principal Mrs. Mamatha Raviprakash was the guiding force behind the success of this course. The children were trained by Ms. Hetal Pendse.

The 4 days course started on 28th April and ended on 1st May.Utkarsh yoga is a meticulously designed course by Gurudev Sri Sri Ravishankarji, which focuses on the all-round development of children in a holistic way. The entire programme was playful, engaging and fun filled. Gurudev says ”Smile, laughter and meditation are the privileges of human life”. The students enjoyed the exercise and processes. It also gave them a chance to express, involve and learn by experience.

The students felt refreshed after the course and also shared their experiences as below:

  1. “I enjoyed the course very much. After the Sudarshan Kriya, my mind was calm and energetic for the rest of the day and I also promise to do Kriya everyday” -Naman
  2. “Though it was online, it was very effective and exciting. The message conveyed in the form of stories made it interesting to kids and helped to register the same in their minds” – Atul’s Parent.

The parents also felt that it was an incredible learning experience overall.

Indian Navy Day

Indian Navy Day is observed every year on 4th of December to celebrate the achievements and role of the naval force to the country. On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Indian Navy Day (04-12-2020) SSRVM organized an interactive session in which Commodore H.G. Harsha was the Chief guest. The students, teachers and Principals of SSRVM schools participated in this session. The Chief Guest spoke about the achievements of Indian Navy, the role of Navy force to the country, he also explained how navy plays a crucial role of exercising joint operations with neighbouring countries, providing support to the people living on the edges and helping them to set up their lives in such difficult regions and also shared 2 video clippings of the Indian Navy. Many other topics of interest such as various branches of Navy, the contribution of women force in Navy and also the different kinds of ships and their functions were also mentioned. He also answered the interesting questions raised by our students and shared some of his experiences and challenges faced during his career which indeed inspired all the participants.
Pranav Patil.M of Class 7, SSRVM Bangalore North also participated in this interactive session and made our school proud by asking key questions.
The session was concluded by saying that this commemoration of Navy Day will undoubtedly influence the young minds to opt Navy as a career and serve our motherland.

Gurunanak Jayanthi was celebrated online on 30 November 2020 for Std 3 to Std 8.
The significance of Gurunanakji and his teachings were shared with the students of Std 3 to Std 5.Stories were narrated about his life to emphasise the importance of seva. They learnt about the holy book – Gurugranth Sahib and Langar. This activity taught them the importance of selfless service to the society.
In Std 6 to Std 8, the celebration began with the story of Gurunanakji by Social Science teachers. They also discussed why and how the devotees celebrate this day and also about the Sikh Gurus who were responsible for shaping the beliefs of the Sikhs.

The National Constitution Day
26 November 2020
The National Law Day or The National Constitution Day, also known as Samvidhan Divas commemorates the adoption of the Constitution by the Government of India is observed every year on 26 November. This year it was observed in SSRVM Bangalore North in a slightly different manner as the classes are held online.
The students from classes 6 to 10 took part in different activities.
The Preamble of our constitution was read and a brief discussion on the importance of the day and various aspects and struggles the Constituent Assembly while drafting the largest Constitution of the World. Among the other activities include pop quiz held in all the classes, Students of std 6 presented a short skit explaining the hard work of the makers of the Constitution, Students of std 7 and 8 presented chart on the Constitution of India. A role play on the Fundamental rights was done by students of std 9,Std 10 presented a puppet show and discussion on the Fundamental Rights and Duties. They also showcased their respect through poems and posters.
The students participated enthusiastically in great numbers. Their understanding and enthusiasm are an encouragement and a beacon of hope for a bright future!

Guru Poornima  5thJuly 2020

A Guru brings light, positivity and happiness in our lives and makes life worthwhile. On 5th July 2020, we celebrated the glory and existence of Gurus, who have been responsible for our being and identity. The day started on an extremely positive note of an energetic warm up session and a round of Padma Sadhana conducted by our beloved Ravi Prakash Ji. The Sudarshan Kriya done in the voice of Poojya Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji emanated a feeling of belongingness and gratitude in all the participants. Finally, we conducted the Guru Pooja in gratitude to the lineage of Gurus. At 9.30 a.m., a Special Gurupooja was conducted for the students of SSRVM Bangalore North wherein they got the opportunity to express their love for their teachers. Our Principal, Mamatha Mahodaye stressed on the fact that our parents and grandparents are our first teachers as they teach us the basics of life and values before we come to school. Mamatha Mahodaye also insisted that the immense contribution of the teachers and the endless efforts that they have put in to bring about a stability in the teaching – learning process in today’s situation. The students and parents need to realise this. Our students expressed their gratitude to Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji on this special day of Guru Poornima. These children with their charming innocence, expressed their thankfulness to each one who has contributed to their growth and upliftment.
